Pep Guardiola admits Manchester City must more nurturing with Kevin De Bruyne.

After he recently recovered from injury.

“Kevin has a lot of experience. In my second season here He’s injure all year. And there were muscle problems after that,” Guardiola explained.

“He handled it perfectly after that. But last season in the Champions League final he was injured again. And after the Burnley game he was out for five months, so we want to take care of him in the right way.”

“We have to work harder and prepare harder than in the past. Because he is one year older. He’s not 22 anymore.”

“The older you get, the more you have to take care of yourself. But let’s hope he can handle it because he’s done it before. The goal is to play 90 minutes straight. And I don’t know when it’s going to happen, but he’s smart and I hope he can sort it out soon.”

De Bruyne came on as a substitute and scored 1 goal and 1 assist as Manchester City overcame Newcastle United 3-2. This was only his second appearance on the field since Injured his hamstring in the game against Burnley in the opening match of the season.

The victory allowed Manchester City to trail leader Liverpool by just 2 points. Their next match will be a trip to Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup 4th round before taking on Burnley in the league.
